A place of utter silence, if such a place existed, what would it be like? Would it be peace?

Its just her in that space, and nobody else. No dogs barking, no birds, not even insects, not even the sound of the wind and trees. Just her, and utter silence - or so it should have been.

/ Voices. So many of them. /

But how could that be! She blinks awake, and shuts her eyes again. In this space, its supposed to be her alone. She did not give consent to anyone; there is no one around in that closed room.

/ They invade. Like a broken tape, playing over and over. /

Invisible conversations, she wonders why she is hearing them, even if nobody speaks. She plugs her ears, yet they stay.

Words and more words, laughter, and more words, sounds indiscernible.

/ Because the noise lies inside. And it wants to talk. /

The noise she seeks to run away from.

Peace, remains shattered.

  1. Sometimes peace could be found in conversations, and sometimes conversations are just mum. And, peace is not exactly silent anymore. :)

  2. Its best found in conversations I think :)

  3. "Speech is the twin of my vision, it is unequal to measure itself,
It provokes me forever, it says sarcastically,
Walt you contain enough, why don't you let it out then?" ~ Leaves of Grass, Whitman :)

  4. Only there is a special place that the utter silence existed, it is called Nirvana, it stayed at our soul. But it always sleep in tiredness, depression, disappointment, sorrow, suffering because of "Ego"... . If one day it wakes up, we only hear a sound of peace, and nothing. Although we hide at a quiet place without sound, voice of creature, of human... but we still can hear all sounds of everything, it can be bigger than normal. Keep your soul be in mindfulness, you will see peace existing, and it is most beautiful in this life.

    1. So many voices drown it out in life. Have recently gotten introduced to mindfulness, but its quite difficult to silence our own internal noise and practice it. Taking baby steps tho :-) Love and peace to you!
